Tailwheel Training
We provide First Class Tailwheel Training in a 1941 Piper J3 Cub. It is a very light cub, equipped with a 100hp C-85 Stroker! This means that even in the heat of the summer, it performs very well. If you are looking to get your tailwheel endorsement, improve your stick and rudder skills, or just looking to get checked out in an original J3 Cub, give us a call and get on our schedule! Our training is tailored around each student so that you will efficiently get exactly what you are looking for out of the time you spend with us.

What you can get out of training in the J3 Cub:

​A tailwheel endorsement and/or get checked out in a J3 Cub.

Improve on your stick and rudder skills. This will improve your piloting skills in all other types of flying as well.

We can do flight reviews in the Cub.

Northern, CA is a great place to experience and practice off airport operations. There are several amazing gravel bars on the Sacramento River to land on. This is another great skill to learn, and also a lot of fun to experience. Come fly with us to learn what back country flying is all about!

If you happen to be in Redding, CA and would like to go up and get a scenic tour of the beautiful area, we can do that also!

J3 aircraft rental wet: $120/hr
Flight Instructor: $80/hr
Training in your aircraft is also available (we will travel to you):
​If you have your own tailwheel aircraft, and need an insurance check out or just want an instructor to fly with you until you feel safe behind the controls of your new plane, we can also travel to you. We can also do flight reviews in your plane.
